Answers to the most common questions about our 4′ × 8′ overhead garage storage racks and professional installation.
How much do the racks cost?
Our standard 4′ × 8′ overhead garage storage racks are $345 professionally installed each. You only pay for the racks we actually install.
How big is each rack?
Each standard rack is 4 feet wide by 8 feet long.
How much weight can a rack hold?
Each rack is rated for up to 600 lbs when properly installed and loaded.
How low do the racks hang?
The drop is typically adjustable from about 23″ to 43″ from the ceiling. We help determine a practical height based on your garage door, vehicles, ceiling height, and what you plan to store.
How long does installation take?
Most installations take about 45–60 minutes per rack, depending on garage layout and installation conditions.
Do I need an in-home estimate first?
No. For standard rack installations, we can usually schedule the installation directly. Our installer will confirm placement with you before installation begins.
What if I am not sure how many racks I need?
That is completely fine. Measure the available ceiling space if you can and choose the maximum number you may want. We can bring enough racks, and you only pay for what is actually installed.
Can I park underneath the racks?
In many garages, yes. Placement and drop height can often be configured so vehicles can park underneath the storage area.
Can I add hooks?
Yes. A bag of 4 rack hooks is $30 and can be added to your installation. You can also buy our hooks on Amazon.
Do the racks come with a warranty?
Yes. Rack Your Garage provides a 1-year professional warranty.
Where do you install?
We currently serve Utah, Salt Lake, Wasatch, Summit, Morgan, Weber, Davis, and Tooele counties.
Is there a travel fee?
There is a $50 travel fee for installations in Weber County, Davis County, and Morgan County.
Do you still offer epoxy flooring, painting, or slat wall?
We offered additional garage improvement services in the past, but we are currently focused specifically on professionally installed overhead garage storage racks.
